I've used a 35S previously (with a flash, which is a novel experience)

didn't really look at the metering/focusing methods much. The guy who
put it
in my hands and told me to take a picture seemed to guess the range. Are
there any viewfinder focusing aids on it?
Which do you prefer to use? I'm leaning towards the XA, but it can't set
ASA1600, which is what I want to shoot. (I know XA2/3/4 can set ASA1600.
Is the XA's optical quality better than them?)
