what is the effect of the polarizer at 18mm, does it afect the sky very

Whenever you are using a polarizer with a wide angle lens, not just the 18mm
you need to pay attention to the degree of polarization. If you crank it up
to the maximum affect the sky in the center of your picture will be very blue
and it will fall off toward the edges. This has to do with the angle at which
the light is entering the scene and the degree to which it gets polarized.
