I have a Polaroid SprintScan 4000, and I have been using it very
happily with VueScan <http://www.hamrick.com>, the $40 scanner software
that supports hundreds of scanners, on Mac OS X 10.3. VueScan works as
well as the Polaroid software ever did, as it seems to support my weird
hardware configuration (SCSI scanner connected through a FireWire to
SCSI adapter) better.
But the Polaroid software worked fine in 10.2x using a SCSI adapter,
and I can't think of a good reason why it should stop working in 10.3.
I know the Polaroid support site says it doesn't, but I would just give
it a try and see for myself (maybe I will;). There are a couple of tech
notes on that site that seem completely wrong.
