Hi Carlos and Dan:

I can't help but mention that you can take a nickle or a penny and insert it
in the slot of the battery cap. Turn it slightly and the
batteries will drop out, this is 100 % failsafe, it won't devalue your OM 4
and also it won't fail while you are taking pictures.
I will also mention but assume you know that by turning the timer switch
clockwise towards the lens, it shuts off sound and does limit some drain on
the battery, also as previously mentioned setting the speed to red 60 or to
B stops drain from accidental contact with the shutter release in the bag.
