I rarely use flash. Don't like it at all. However, going on two years ago
we had some friends over for dinner and eventually got around to taking
pictures, and I did use the F280 for this with okay results (as flash
pictures go--again, I don't like them and only use a flash when I
absolutely have to . . . and _never_ outside for "fill").
Could be, though, that units would fluctuate one to the next with regard to
recycling. Also, I only use Duracells coppertops and occasionally its
Energizer equivalent. My experience with AA NiCDs has not been consistently
happy. (I think the most elegant solution would be to hire a couple of
grips to walk around filling in with portables as the need arose. Don't
know what that might cost, though. <g>)
I agree the user needs to know what his particular units does and not rely
on published factory specs. That's just common sense.
