I agree it's important to move quickly to resolve this. Fortunately I
just got the camera Thursday, and pretty much dropped everything to
test it out.
To go back to my question (that I thought the OM gurus here would
surely know). . . When a 2N is on manual, does the camera sense a
flash connected to the PC socket, and limit the shutter to 1/60?
If not, then seeing the entire film aperture light up at 1/1000 would
be pretty conclusive evidence of failed higher shutter speeds.
I'm sending the seller fairly calm message asking him to take the
camera back, or fix it if he prefers. I'll let you know how it comes
out. (Just to reassure you, I don't think he has any other OM gear up
now.)
If anyone has other comments or insights, feel free to cc directly me
offlist--I get the digest and sometimes feel a day out of sync with
posts here.
