yeep, that´s my impression too.

yes, the Epson 200 is not bad (especially at the prize of 120€ on ebay) BUZ
it is really not a 27xx dpi scanner like i.e. Nikon, Canon, Minolta.

i agree, the 18mm is superb, but, similar to my use of the 35shift, i often
use the shift for interieur photography, to have a perspective from normal
(eyes) niveau - and then downshifting to minimize part of the ceiling.
