From my experience standing in the photo section at Walmart, until
individuals learn how to read and follow the directions on the screen,
there will continue to be limited usage of the kiosks. I see individuals
standing in line to use them, but the process is too slow. Individuals
make mistakes and start over, cause the printers to jam or otherwise
monopolize the kiosks. In the last week I have helped two different
individuals who had no clue on what to do.
I was pleasantly surprised to find, when the printer jammed and had to be
reloaded, that the Kodak printers are dye transfer.

"The main interaction most consumers will have with companies like Kodak and
Fuji is through kiosks (at drug stores, airports, vacation spots, etc.) that
spit out prints from images stored on Compact Flash cards."
Hmmmmm.....the biggest problem for Fuji and Kodak is the fact that only
about 14% of digital images shot are printed. I'm for one surprised that the
grandparent's market hasn't changed this, but no one has been able to
overcome this.
