[OM] Zuik 35-105 problem

Yes - an on topic post (don't get over excited). Could I ask those 
who haven't put me on their filter list a question about the 35-105 
Zuiko. A friend just asked for her with hers and I know little about 
this lens (she loves it).
Everything seems fine except - the zoom action doesn't. Locked solid 
- no slide at all. Focussing is perfect and when turned to close 
focus it racks aout to about 50mm. Otherwise it is firmly on 35mm and 
not moving. Not stiff or stuck - locked like it's nailed shut.
Is there a simple answer for this one - any suggestions guys?
