But I just happened onto this quote, on pg. 59 of Ansel's "Examples:
The Making of 40 Photographs":
Nice quote. Adams also wrote a how to book on Polaroid photography. Any
one so interested in process and appreciative of the differences in
images regardless of resolution may have jumped right into digital. On
the other hand he made it very clear that he was unhappy with his color
images and may have waited for something like the Foveon chip which
would give uninterpolated data for each pixel site to record his black
and white.
