Baloney,
Peter was so right.
People are afraid of the US because of it's inability to do anything that is
"not in it's own interests" despite what happens to anyone else as a
consequence. Kyoto is as good an example as is required I think.... or
perhaps the Steel import ban......... or perhaps any number of other overly
self interested policies that could be mentioned.....,if this wasn't an OM
or even an Olympus list????
Please don't say why I, a UK 'friend' of america, am afraid. That would be
the cherry on top!!!
Lots of people using there 'cameras' around the world at the moment to prove
this point.
Jon
............. the extreme provocation. The world is fearful of the US
because they now realize that we will defend our interests and those who do
us harm are vulnerable. A great deal of anti-US terrorism has been directly
and indirectly sponsored by governments that purport to be our friends.
Everyone has their limits.......................... /jim

This is exactly the kind of intellectually sounding crap those Wolfofeld
hawks use to make US citizens paranoid, and to convince US citizens of an
over-agressive international policy. Interestingly, hardly anyone believes
this outside the US, as shown in the recent polls that show even traditional
US partners think the US is the main threat to world stability. Considering
the 180 degree turn from main friend to main threat in 20 years, that's
saying a lot.
I had to get this off my chest.
Peter.
