The 35-105 is one of my most often used "walk around" lenses and I've also 
used the 35-70 for the same purpose.  If I wanted to have the 35-70 as opposed 
to the 35-105, I'd probably get the 3.5-4.5 version as it is about the size of 
85mm f2 and it uses the same lens hood as the 50mm f1.8 "normal" lens. Given 
the choice between the two, I'd go with the 35-105mm. Bill Barber
