The only price I saw that really raised an eyebrow for me was the price of
the 300/2.8. Yes, it's effectively a 600/2.8 but optically it's still a
300mm lens and should be somewhere in that price range, not that of a 600mm.
If I buy a C*n*n digital I can buy a 300mm lens and get an effective 480mm
lens (1.6 multiplier right?) but I only pay for a 300mm lens.
Not a big deal for me though since I've only once used a 400mm length (200mm
with 2x) so I don't have a big need myself for a 300mm lens let alone a
600mm.
