Let me take this opportunity to mention, since Fernando brought up the
subject, to encourage all of you to take advantage of Argentina's problems.
I was fortunate to visit Buenos Aires in 1999, just before the devaluation.
Then, I found things to be reasonably priced. Although hotels were not a
bargain, they were in line with equivilent US lodging. Food and wine were a
bit less than US. The people were friendly and gracious, and it is an
interesting country. I would like to go again.
I would also encourage those of you not there to try Argentine wines. I have
found them to be quite a bargain.
