Hi, all.
I've made a quick comparison between 1-8 & 2-4 screens, with 21/3.5, 28/2 &
200/4 Zuikos.
The 2-4 is brighter than the 1-8, and shows more contrast. However, the
good thing about the 1-8 is that it keeps showing sort of *two* images: one
showing the (de)focusing, and another almost always sharp... this way is
very easy to focus on pin-point, high contrast subjects -- that is, stars
;-) You can compare the size of the 'sharp' star with the size of the
'blurred' star; any difference means focusing error. In a word, *superb*
for astrophotography.
With the 200/4, it's easy to fine focus, especially on high contrast
subjects. But with the 21/3.5, especially on low contrast, dim light
scenes, the 2-4 looks much better. The 28/2 seems OK with both screens,
though.
As for depth-of-field preview, the 2-4 wins again -- the 'always-sharp'
added image on the 1-8 is confusing here.
Hope this helps,
...
