Following is an email that I sent to Oly Japan regarding the OM to E-1

>>I note from your E-1 website that Olympus continues to be
non-committal about releasing an OM lens to 4/3 adapter. This despite
the fact that this adapter is reported to appear on the E-1 system price
list as the "OM adapter MA-1".
>>
>>Please be advised that I have been a dedicated user of Olympus
equipment since I purchased my first OM-1 in 1976. Over the years I
have built a substantial investment in OM mount lenses and accessories
and I want to continue to use them.
>>
>>I understand your argument that lower resolution OM lenses will not
provide the best performance on the small sensor of the E-1. However, I
cannot afford to replace my entire lens line all at once and I believe
the OM lenses and accessories will provide acceptable performance in
many situations.
>>
>>In any case, you must be well aware that, since I am faced with
purchasing an entirely new system that I also have the option to
purchase a competitive system. I have recently been using the Canon 10D
which belongs to a friend. I find this to be a very acceptable camera.
I can also purchase an OM adapter for the 10D (not made by Canon). I
have seen photos made with this combination and they are quite acceptable.
>>
>>To be very blunt, if Olympus does not provide the OM to 4/3 adapter I
will purchase a Canon 10D instead of an E-1.
>>
>>Thank you,
>>Chuck Norcutt
