Hello all,
Most of you do not know me, so I'll introduce myself. I am 16 years old, I
live in San Diego, and I have been a Zuikoholic since I was 14 when I got my
OM-2. Up to that time, I had been using my father's OM-1 and lenses. I have
subscribed to this list for nearly 2 years, but I have only posted about 4
times.
I have learned much from this list, and my photography has improved
significantly. I currently use an OM-2 with 24/2.8, 28/2.8, 35/2, 50/1.4, and
85-250/5 lenses, a Vivitar macro focusing teleconverter and an array of
accessories
that I keep in my Lowepro mini trekker backpack. Anyway...
This year I am finally taking a photo class at my high school. Today we
brought in our personal cameras for teacher approval. There were about 3 C*non
AE-1s, a few plastic bargain SLRs, and to my amazement, the two students
nearest
me had an OM-1n and an OM-2n. I don't know the respective owners well, but I
told them that I could help if they needed any advice or instruction with
their cameras or buying accessories. The students at my table were impressed
with my OM-2, and each liked its small size compared to the bulkier AE-1s that
the teacher had suggested for a first camera. Hopefully I have started a few
more young adults on their way to Zuikoholism.
Returning to lurking...
Kyle Jeffery
PS: My birthday is in two weeks and I am looking for a decent OM-4 or worn 4T
in the range of $200-260 to tell my parents about. It should function
properly and have all caps, but a bit of brassing won't bother me. Thanks.
