Do you have a budget in mind?
For a bottom-end budget, I'd suggest looking up an Olympus D-600L. True SLR
viewing, so you can put attachments on the end and actually see what they will
do. Decent macro capability. Point-n-shoot simplicity.
My Dad won a photo club competition with this camera, against the usual
suspects of 35mm SLRs, with an 8x10 print he made on an Epson CS-800 printer.
When it was new, it was THE CAMERA for pros to buy. You should be able to pick
one up today for under $200.
Remember, not all megapixels are created equal. It may only be 1.4 MP, but it
can still take prize-winning pictures.
