......and I grew up around them near Holmes Cty OH, an even more
conservative sect. I have ENORMOUS respect for these kind and gentle -
- for the most part- - people. To them, Photography is a 'Graven
image'. I have many photos of the countryside, workshops and teens
when by themselves. Out of respect for their wishes, I have NO photos
of adults, even some good and respected friends. I also know their
kids think and have interest in a much wider spectrum of life and
living than they are allowed to exhibit, thus the analogy. To repeat
what I believe to be the obvious theme: Photography with OM is a
paradigm. OM without Photography, i.e. a narrow and constrained view
has little meaning except for advocates of collecting, museums, etc.
Therefore: Photography minus considerations of 'analog' v. digital
printing now and for the future is a broken chain. A creative and
dynamic OM forum can not move to the future by delimiting views or
viewpoints within the spectrum of PHOTOGRAPHY. Dylan: 'the times they
are a changin' includes Photography and OM and considerations of
exciting new printing technology for the future. The list is benefited
by this Off to the Future.....
