Which just goes to show how bloody incompetent the sysops around me
are - my workplace crashed and so did the Universities near me. I'm
obliged to use Windoze for administrative tasks at work due to the
extreme system bigotry of the local Education Department. I heard
that the MS patch was available 2-3 weeks ago - shouldn't they have
been ahead of this one?
The annoyance is in the probability that although many more of the
people doing quality photo-printing are using Macs than the overall
sales proportion would suggest, no-one has written this very nice
little 'stick-it-up-Epson' program for the rest of us. Or have they?
Would love to use it on the Mac-driven 1290 at work (they bought us
the printer but didn't really budget for the cartridges - sound
familiar?)

Well, it will work on my PC. And I'm not doing any rebuilding
either. With proper antivurus protection and firewall, the worm
can't find me. I've been using Windoze since at least 3.1, including
serious years spent working mostly on computers and I've never, ever
caught a virus. I've been accused of it on occasion, but always been
able to prove it wasn't me who infected some fool high mucky-muck's
computer.
Not a pro Win or anti Apple rant, both good, useful systems, neither
perfect, just one man's experience that flies in the face of
accepted 'wisdom'.

Trouble is - no Mac version. Bugger. Well, at least I'm not
rebuilding my system after this week's worm!
