No, John, the size had nothing to do with it. They just quit developing
the larger sizes. I think it was due to a lack of interest in the
card. There are some Oly digitals that have CF slots too. Not sure which
ones. I have the C2100 UZ. Love that 10X image stabilized camera. I
seem to remember that some people took cards into shops and formated them
in certain Fuji cameras, but don't remember which ones. Sufffering from
CRS. I am not sure, but believe that some of the older card readers were
able to format the cards so that the Olys would then format them
again. Under the later MS operating systems that function is gone. As I
said, most of that should be in the Oly2100 mail list archives on Yahoo groups.
