Hello All,
I know there are more than a few Aviation buffs on the list and so it is
with a sad heart I forward the following:
IDENTIFICATION
Regis#: 258Y Make/Model: EXP Description: EXP- HUGHES 1 B
Date: 08/05/2003 Time: 0030
Event Type: Accident Highest Injury: Fatal Mid Air: N Missing: N
Damage: Destroyed

DESCRIPTION
ACFT CRASHED UNDER UNKNOWN CIRCUMSTANCES, ONE PERSON ON BOARD WAS FATALLY
INJURED, NORTH OF OLD GEYSER IN YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, WY
For those that have never seen it this is a NTSB report available online
somewhere.
The Hughes H 1 B was a very significant plane in the annals of aviation
History and this replica had only been flying about a year. My deepest
sympathies go to James Wright's family. For more details see the story at:
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/2381969/detail.html
I am very grateful to have had the chance to see this plane at Oshkosh
last week. I wonder what effect this will have on the various groups
building replicas of significant aircraft from the past.
Sorry for the off topic post.
