Brian. As Charles wrote, a little bit of salmon or gravadlax is nice.
Cream cheese goes well with them and toasted they are quite crisp. But
like all the other easy meals they are high in fat, salt and sugar - oh
and they seem also to be completely free of fibre... ;-)
Er, a properly-made bagel *itself* has neither fat nor much in the way of
either salt or sugar. First they're boiled, then baked. They're only good
fresh. Even day-old bagels are frightening compared to the freshly-made
product...
