Welcome (belatedly?) to the list.
The 35~70 3.5/4.5 is a delightful lens for all the reasons mentioned. Good
performance, small, right size filters, small, small, small.
Did I mention small? It will fit in the never ready case just as if it were
a 50mm lens. Speed can be an issue.
Pricing any more can be sort of a crap shoot (is that language that's going
to stir up the naptha/kero/diesel thread?). Careful shopping should net you
a good one for under $150. Your post may very well prompt some offers to
sell from within the list, too.
