I mis-spoke.
What I meant was with color you could use Zone skills by metering a highlight
then increase the exposure so that it doesn't fall on
middle grey. I used the word "put" but that was a bad choice of words. Here's
why:
I said, "take a spot reading from
> a highlight and "Put" it on the correct zone" That implied that one could
> meter on middle grey, find a highlight and "Put" it on
the right place on the film's curve by doing contrast adjustment. Good catch.
