Hi John,
I saw them on the airforce open day last year in Vaerloese near Copenhagen.
The fences was removed around some of the fighters after the flight show
that ended around 16:00 and before we were thrown out of the airfield by
angry MP's around 17:45. There wasn't many people at that time, making
better photo ops. And there were so many people on the roads leaving the
flight station that it was nearly impossible to get anywhere.
The F-18 is one of my favorite fighters and I loved the chance of having
it more or less for myself. Ever read "Hornet, The Inside Story of the
F/A-18" by Orr Kelly? Nice book with a confusing timeline.
The flight station url is http://www.fsnvaer.dk/ but I guess that most of
the site is in danish. They have a gallery of the open house day that is
available here: http://www.fsnvaer.dk/Airshow/Billedalbum/page_01.htm
This years open house day has been canceled because of insufficient founding. :(
Cheers,
Klaus
