Hi Moose,
Thanks for the information re the 24mm f2 hood and a method of testing
out if I have the optimal lens hood for a particular lens. I did have a
24 mm f2 hood on the 28-48 mm but it fell off over the weekend and got
lost. The front filter ring on the 28-48 takes 49mm filters and as I
have a spare 28mm lens hood I was thinking of using that.
I don't have a light box but maybe stopping down the lens to f22 and
looking through the viewfinder as something bright e.g. a lightbulb
might give me an indication if the 28mm hood is going to cause
vignetting? I could of course take a few pictures at f22 and see how
they come out. Maybe that's what I'll do. I'll try a 24 mm f2.8 (49mm
screw in) hood as well.
Thanks again for the information.

No, it won't even fit on the lens. The 28/3.5 hood is 49mm screw-in
and the 28-48/4 is 55mm screw-in. The closest thing in an Oly hood
would be the 24/2 hood. <snip>

Anyone have or know where I can get a lens hood/shade for a Zuiko
28-48 zoom?
Will a 28 mm f 3.5 hood do the job just as well?
