I have to say, I know NUMEROUS people have no problems whatsoever, but I am
about to chunk my 1280 out the window :-). The stupid head clogs and I need
to clean it a dozen times before it clears. I am spending a lot of money on
inks. So while its color is more vivid than the Kodak 8500, I am using the
Kodak much much more.

I'm definitely not disappointed with the Canon S9000. Yellow
does fade more than the other colors, but seems to be more paper
dependant. So far, knock on wood, the Ilford Galerie Classic is
holding up fabulously. The Canon Photo Paper Pro (the
high-priced glossy stuff) is exceptionally stable under glass.
