I have the plastic 72mm (it came on my 180mm f2.8), but I moved it to
my new 18mm f3.5 when I got it, so now my 180 is wearing a generic cap
and has that not-so-fresh feeling. ;-)

Not only must they be genuine Olympus caps, but the 72mm came in both
the
plastic with push-button sides and a screw-in metal version marked

the
49mm 'Olympus' caps to be fairly common, the 55mm much less so, and
the 72mm
almost never found. I like having the 'right' caps for my lenses, but
its
not obsessive, doctor.
