I am perpetually amazed at people who are able to dismiss an Ivy League MBA,
former Governor, and successful Presidential candidate as a moron. While
it would be entirely possible to disagree with his positions, a moron he most
certainly isn't. And frankly, when someone starts a political argument with
"the
pres is a moron" (regardless of which pres they're discussing), I tend to
discount whatever follows.

Are you under the impression that this is typical? The national average runs
right at $41K, with state averages running from $29K (South Dakota) to $52K
(Connecticut). given that New York pays an average of $51,020, your friend
brings in 540ver the average in their state and ovr twice the national
average.
FWIW, our local school district offers a top salary (masters degree, 25+ years
of service) of $36K. Starting salaries just barely break 20.
