Well, if you compare years of schooling to earning potential for different
occupations you might feel differently. Also, I don't believe that is a
usual pay range for teachers. I don't even earn half that amount after
teaching over 15 years.
I would like to earn a percentage of my student's salaries rather than a
flat pay!
One thing I do get is the gratification of seeing the students after a
number of years. It is amazing to watch them grow up into productive
adults. I can't imagine doing anything else.

And, what's with the knocking teacher's salaries. A Junior High (or "middle
school") art teacher frind of mine brings in $79,000 a year! Since when is a
phenomenal salary like that "low"?
