Some of the shots I have of my gf, great bokeh, I open my 50mm lens up,
to f1.8 and while it's a bit soft, when I'm shooting people, I don't
care too much; and in fact, the "softness" is very welcomed. A few of
my friends asked me which "digital P&S" I bought to get these results,
they wanted to buy the same one! hehehe..
The fact remains, I don't know how people do portrait shots with those
28-80mm deathzooms that are like f5-f6.5. There is absolutely no
background blur..
I bought my OM1n, and it came with the standard 50mm f1.8. My friend
bought a "megazoom" 28-135mm something or other, and you know what? I'm
a better photographer because of the prime lens... no doubt about it.
I'm glad I didn't go zoom right away.. (I still haven't!)
That said, I won't buy a 4/3's if it doesn't come with a standard prime
lens..
