I recently bought a used Olympus 35 SP in apparently beautiful shape. However,
there seems to be a problem with the shutter. The meter works fine, the film
advances, as evidenced by the rewind lever turning, and the shutter makes what
seems like a normal firing sound when the shutter button is pressed. But, even
when fired on B, the shutter blades do not open and nothing registers on the
film. Also, on every shutter speed setting the sound of the shutter firing is
exactly the same--sounds like about 1/200 sec. Am I screwing up, or is the
shutter malfunctioning? Does this sound familiar to anyone? I much appreciate
any advice. Thanks.
