I just got back from a trip to the USA and Canada. At San Francisco
International,
they now X-ray all baggage (domestic and international) with new warnings
against
ALL photographic film. Amazingly, even the person at check-in indicated that
all film
needs to be in a carry on. Naturally, all carry on baggage is also X-rayed, but
as
others on the list have indicated, you can run a few times through these low
dose
scanners without apparent harm, particularly for ASA 400 and below. I'm going
to
start using a film shield, in any case. Note- no X-ray warnings in Newark or
Toronto -
but I don't know what that means...I will no longer take the chance.
