Heh...he's known for staging bombastic media events to make his points.
A few years ago on his TV show he had people with tracheotomy tubes
singing Christmas carols at a prominent U.S. tobacco company office. He
staged a funeral at an HMO office headquarters for someone whose
coverage wasn't going to cover the cost of an operation that was
necessary to keep him alive (the HMO reversed their position on the air
and covered the operation). He took victims of the Columbine shootings
to the K-Mart headquarters to return bullets to them that had been
purchased in their stores (they have since decided to stop selling
handgun ammunition). In his latest movie he walked into homes
unannounced in a metropolitan Canadian city to demonstrate that
Canadians aren't afraid to keep their doors unlocked, even in large
cities. A lot of people think his stunts are just childish, but I think
a lot of them are inspired.
