Adams' book about the taking and making of 40 of his images contains an

Seems
that Adams did not keep a record of the day, week, month, or year of
the
image and had to hire an astronomer years after the fact to date the
image.
Some day in Ocotober 1941 was the astronomer's estimation although
Adams has
originally opined that the image could have been taken up to as late as
1945. He might have been a great artist but his admin / organization
skills
must have been lousy!
