Hi Bob,
Coupled aperture and shutter speed were the default on "C" and "CT" lens
manufactured from ~1957 to ~1982. With these lens there's a catch that you
depress to adjust them individually. Starting with the "CF" series of lens
in '82 this feature was replaced by a button that you push to couple them
and the default is to adjust them independently.
Maybe Hassy decided to be more like Olympus? (just kidding!)
