I had exact the same problem (dropped the OM1 with the 135/2.8) resulting
in a dented hood. BUT, I Certainly would NOT open the lens by any means. So
instead of tinkling with it I just acceppted the different looks and
considered it as heavy wear of a rugged camera outfit. I woulnt even
exchange this lens just because of a dented hood.
I could accept the look easily, but I would like to be able to extend
and retract the hood easily.
I straightened a damaged 65-200 hood using a mole wrench, two
*THICK* wads of tissue paper and a huge amount of care - and thus
avoided the need to dismount.
Thanks, I'll see if I can try something like this. I do like this
135/2.8 a lot (although i also have the 100/2.8, non MC, which I like
even more perhaps ;-)
