There is one of the rare 'Big Whites' on the 'bay right now... a 250/2.0...
these don't come up that often. As I catch myself wondering if the weight of
this lens would be offset by the lightness in my wallet, I wonder if anyone
with experience with one could comment on a question, purely hypothetical.
With a 250/2.0 and a 1.4XA you have approximately a 350/2.8... and with a
2XA you have approximately a 500/4.0. What is the performance of such a rig
compared with the 350/2.8 prime lens? Is the 250/2.0 smaller than the 350?
Seems like a 250 + 1.4XA might be a good alternative setup and more flexible
than the 350/2.8 for about the same money. Anybody got any thoughts on
this...?
For now its a purely hypothetical question, but at least its not cars, guns,
SUV's or movies... <g>
