Yes, if I remember correctly, the "spring" (actually a lever), is held to
the inside of the mount by two plastic posts which have had their tops
melted down. Usually the melted part breaks off and the lever comes free.
It's simple job to put the lever back on and glue it down. However, you
do need to try and find where the broken off tops have gone. Sometimes
they make it into the lens and end up between two elements.
