We've stopped using UPS almost entirely, for a variety of reasons. Most
important is that it is driver's discretion whether to acquire a
signature or not upon deliver, unless the shipper pays extra -- they can
just leave the package on the customer's doorstep if there's no one
home. When they started that policy, our claims increased from one or
two a year to four within a month! That's _not_ good customer service,
either for UPS or for me if I were to continue using them.
That and the USPS gives us free boxes, tape, and labels!
