I was at an air show at a local airport on Saturday. Got a quite nice
"Merlin V-12" t-shirt from one of the vendors... Unfortunately, nothing
running a Merlin flew in. I did get to listen to quite a few Wright Wasps,
however, which isn't a bad second place selection.
Ob OM: Took quite a few shots with my 2N and the 16/3.5, 24/2.8 and 135/2.8
lenses. I think I even took a couple with the 300/4.5...

Totally green here, John! One of the fascinating things about the "thunder"
boats is not just the sound of the piston engines, but their history. Where
they were made, and what for. Another is the build quality -- they come
from
an era of highly skilled craftsmanship. No assembly line robots, no
computer-controlled machines involved. Just pure hands on painstaking
craftsmanship. Whether RR or Packard or Allison-built. I just read where
NEW in the crate Allisons are still available!!! If only we could be so
lucky with OMs, eh?
