OK, I'm going to clean one more thing off my shelf, although this is a tough
one. I have a very nice 180 f/2, in white, with the original aluminum case.
The exterior is in very nice shape, with just some wear on the tripod mount.
The glass is beautiful (oh so beautiful).
The best part is that it just returned from a full CLA with the famous Clint
at Photosphere. Long time readers will remember that this lens had a little
play in the focus, which it had when I acquired it. Being a bit of a
perfectionist, I sent it off for a full CLA to, ack, someone else, not Clint
or John. It came back without being repaired (although charged for). So, I
sent it to Clint. Clint performed magic, which took extra effort, as a few
of the parts are, surprise, NLA. Clint managed to accomplish the impossible
and now it focuses smoooooooth, oh so smooth.
Pricing is always difficult. I believe the most current pricing is on Gary
Reese's site. He shows a price of $2500 for 9+ condition and $2000 for 8
condition. I would probably put it in between, although as most of you
know, I try to be fairly conservative.
So, for a short time only, I'll offer it to the list for what I believe is a
fair price of $1999. That's right about what I have in it, so no big win
for me on this one, but.....
Shipping is not included, but I will charge actual shipping. In the US, I'd
estimate $25, as it cost Clint $26 to ship it back to me. Outside the US,
I'll have to calculate actual shipping cost.
As always, everything I sell comes with a no-questions-asked return policy.
If, for any reason, you receive it and decide it isn't exactly right for
you, just ship it back. Shoot a few rolls, make sure it belongs in your
collection. I'll cover shipping to you, you pay for it back, in that
situation.
For those of you new to the list, that don't know my reputation, feel free
to ask about it here on the list. This isn't a cheap item, so I am sure
you'll want a comfort level. You can also check my eb*y feedback (tscales).
if Clint feels comfortable, he's also welcome to jump in with his opinion on
the condition of the lens. He is clearly more of an expert that I.
Hope there is some interest -- this money is already spent :)
Thanks to all,
Tom Scales
