I liked this quote from the LA Times discussion of the migration of
television from film to digital video equipment for things like
location shooting for the Discovery channel:
"Its like sitting on an airplane and getting a plastic knife. You
accept it as something that is being forced upon you," said
cinematographer Stefan Czapsky, who worked on "Edward Scissorhands"
and "The Thin Blue Line".
"You don't really feel like it was as good as it was when you had a
metal knife."
