The train that runs to Fairbanks, Alaska is known as the Moose-Gooser
because of conflicts with moose that prefer traveling on the plowed railroad
tracks to bushwhacking through the deep snow. They will take on the train
head-on. Moose are fearless animals with their only animal threat being
wolves. The lack of fear makes them much easier for man to hunt than most
other species.

I'll be carefull. The last moose I saw was in Alaska.
She and her young came within 20 feet of me as I sat
frozen in fright on the side of trail. When she saw me
make a move out of desire to not have moose breath on
me she and her calf lite out like bats out of hell
through thick forest. They just mowed through it. That
year there had been reports of uppity mooses attacking
trains head on on the track and jumping people. They
are huge majestic critters. I was going to be an
animal I'd be a moose. Kinda solitary, with great
habitat. OM content---I never got a shot off with my
OM1n and 50mm.
