What didn't you like about XP2? Were you looking at the negatives or
prints. I've been using XP2 for about a year and have developed a good
relation with the owner of a local one hour lab. To get a print that
works for me (and for him) requires good communication of what I want in
the print and several iterations of printing. Black and white prints
take trial and error in addition to a good negative. It's frustrating
for me to not be in control of of the whole process; but rewarding when
it all works right. I am still learning what the film can do and what
the printing process can & can't do. But the successes have come more
from the printer's technical skills and willingness to listen to what I
want than from the choice of film.
Just my 2 cents.
