I have a 'telephoto eye', in that I notice and visualize tele shots more
natuarally than WA shots. As a result, I always have a long lens along
when doing any serious shooting. A quick measurement of the 1-4 screen
shows that the spot meter covers about 10-110f the width of the frame.
With a 200mm lens and its 12 deg angle of view, the OM-4x becomes about
a 1.2 deg spot meter (300mm ~= 0.8deg). Just slip on the long lens for
those tough readings, no separate meter needed.

I would add: Even with my OM-4 I want a 1-degree meter for difficult
landscape pictures (to assess what will be burnt out or blacked.
