Right; it pays to buy one that'll keep water out ;) I always examine that
aspect when I buy. Even some of the "better" camera or other bags and packs
have very carelessly designed openings, pockets, flaps etc.

Go to the nearest Walmart or other large store - or sports chain. Check out
the "cooler" lunch bags and packs.
They are insulated (and hence well-padded too)
But not always waterproof around the zipper. Almost did in my OM-1 and flash
when I got caught in a sudden rainstorm with one of those six-pack cooler
bags ... Went out and bought a real camera bag (LowePro Nova) shortly after
that.
