Most 'M42 screw to OM' adapters, like
<http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1376007085>, have a
lens in order to reach infinity focus. This lens acts as a mild
teleconverter, too.

Since you plan to use it for macro, infinity focus is not needed. You may
try to remove the lens on one of these adapters.
