As I recall, the 100-200 won't hold focus zooming back. this is normal. mbwt

Ghmpf....well, I see. Good to get the info, thanks Dave. Well, I guess I
should take the lens to an OM-doctor next time I come around one. Which, I
hope, will be soon. I've had good words of a competent OM-doc in Atlanta,
where I will be heading next week, so we'll see....
